The majority of houses in the U.S. rely on wood framing to provide the necessary structure, and wood-frame homes can certainly withstand high wind events. To avoid damage, however, wood-frame buildings depend on sound engineering design as well as careful attention to framing details. This course examines these requirements, and helps building officials focus on the issues that matter most.
